This week, the situation on the Black Sea and Danube freight markets has remained largely unchanged from the previous reporting period. Owners continue to struggle with a lack of cargo orders, while charterers maintain the upper hand, pushing rates further down. Freight levels remain mostly stable across all DWT segments; however, the bearish sentiment persists, allowing charterers to secure slightly better rates in certain cases.

Freight rates for coasters loaded with corn from Ukrainian Danube ports to Marmara and East Coast Greece have inched down by 1 USD/MT to 17-18 USD/MT and 19-20 USD/MT, respectively. No changes are observed for East Med and Israeli destinations, with rates remaining at 22-24 USD/MT and 29-30 USD/MT, respectively. Meanwhile, freight rates to East Coast Italy have dropped by 1 USD/MT to 25-27 USD/MT. The freight for coasters to Spain remains stable at 28-30 USD/MT.
