Today marks the opening of Globoil India 2025 (24–26 September), the key annual gathering of the global vegetable oil industry. With India at the center of global demand, market players are closely watching how shifting supply dynamics will shape trade flows this season, and ASAP Agri is proud to be a Media Partner of the event.

The sunflower oil market entered Globoil week on a cautious note. Limited seller activity kept trade swings short-lived, while pressure from russia’s bumper crop and Argentina’s expected large harvest weighed on global sentiment.

In Ukraine, crushers have postponed the switch to sunflower seed processing until October due to delayed and sluggish harvesting, keeping rapeseed as the main crush base. Despite ongoing concerns over a smaller domestic sunflower crop, weak demand and strong competition from russia continue to weigh on Ukrainian sunflower oil prices.

In India, the host of this week’s discussions and the world’s largest vegetable oil importer, russian sunflower oil was quoted on 23 September at 1280 USD/MT CIF for October delivery, against buyer bids of 1250 USD/MT. For November shipment, offers slipped to 1250 USD/MT, while buyers stayed lower at 1210–1215 USD/MT.

So, Ukraine under strain. russia on the offensive. India in control. Globoil India 2025 is where these forces collide — and where the future of the vegetable oil trade will be debated. Follow ASAP Agri news for the highlights and sharpest takeaways from the conference.
