
As of
22 May, Ukrainian farmers had sown over 5.32 MHA of spring grains and pulses —
94% of the projected area, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Sunflower planting is lagging behind last year’s pace, with 4.35 MHA sown (86% of the forecast) versus 4.96 MHA at the same point in 2024. Soybeans have been planted on 84% of the intended area, though weather conditions have caused significant regional delays. Corn sowing is nearly complete at 93%, or 3.76 MHA.
Among early spring grains, wheat planting remained unchanged at 95% (215.7 KHA), while barley advanced slightly to 96% (743.6 KHA).
