As of 8 May, Ukrainian farmers have sown 4.32 MHA of spring grains and pulses, reaching 76% of the national forecast (5.68 MHA), slightly ahead of last year’s pace of 74%. Planting progress has significantly accelerated over the past week, with 1.07 MHA added since 1 May.

Spring wheat is 93% planted (212.6 KHA out of 227.5 KHA forecast), spring barley 95%, and peas 96%.

Corn has reached 73% of its planned 4.02 MHA, with 2.92 MHA already planted.

Industrial crops are 66% sown, led by sunflower (69%) and soybean (56%).
