Algeria's state grain agency, OAIC, has reportedly
purchased at least 570 KMT of optional-origin milling wheat in its 16 April
tender, with some market sources suggesting the final volume could reach 600
KMT.
The wheat is scheduled for shipment between 1–15 June and 16–30 June. Most of the supply is expected to originate from the Black Sea region, with Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria named among the key suppliers. French wheat remained excluded from the tender, despite last week’s news of warming diplomatic ties between Algeria and France.
The purchase price was reported at 267.5 USD/MT C&F, marking a 1 USD/MT decrease from OAIC’s previous tender on 12 March, when the agency bought at least 450 KMT for May shipment.
For comparison, offer prices for Ukrainian 11.5% protein milling wheat remained largely stable over the same period, at 245–246 USD/MT FOB POC as of 16 April, compared to 245 USD/MT FOB POC on 12 March.
