From 1–9 April, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports rose by 10% m/m, reaching 151 KMT, with more spot cargoes currently underway. Sunflower meal exports edged up by 1% m/m to 99 KMT, including over 70 KMT shipped to China, highlighting growing demand from the region.
This shift in market dynamics was anticipated by ASAP Agri. As forecast, stronger domestic sunflower seed sales in late March–early April have driven a rebound in crushing activity, now supporting higher sunflower oil and meal exports in April and May.
Meanwhile, this trend has resulted in lower soybean crushing volumes and a slowdown in soybean by-product exports. As a result, Ukrainian exports of soybean oil and meal have declined in April.
