The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) will continue enforcing its 15% wheat import quota for Turkey until 31 December, 2024, as confirmed by Ahmet Güldal, General Director of TMO. This announcement was made at the Extended Sector Meeting of the Ministry of Trade of Turkey with TUSAF, held in Antalya on 18-20 October, noted Salih Karagoz, Trade Advisor at ASAP Agri and Broker at Atria Brokers, who was also participating at this event.

Under this policy, millers must purchase 85% of their wheat needs from TMO for flour production, leaving them only able to import the remaining 15% under the Inward Processing Regime.

There were rumors in the middle of October that the wheat import quota might be raised to 30%. However, since its introduction on 02 October, the 15% quota remains in place.
