As of 30 September, Ukrainian farmers have sown winter wheat on 1.67 MLN HA or 37% of the forecast, vs 1.74 MLN HA planted as of the corresponding date last year. The lag from the 2023 sowing campaign decreased from 14% previous week to 4%.

For barley, the pace of planting accelerated, and the field works is now 10% ahead of last year. The sowing progress stands at 19% of the forecast, covering 119.4 KHA, vs 109 KHA year ago.

Farmers have achieved a higher rate of progress for rye, completing nearly 49% of the planned 70.5 KHA. 

Rapeseed has been sown on 83% of area or 932.9 KHA, behind 1.09 MLN HA at year ago. Delay from the last year’s pace narrowed from 17% previous week to 14%. A significant progress in the oilseed planting was observed in Odesa region, with 110% of area sown (+28 KHA per week), In turn, in the key-producing region – Dnipro – the planting progress is only 44%, with slow weekly advance of 4.8 KHA.
