This week a lot of attention of crude oil market is attracted to a new crisis in Libya that has arisen over control of the Central Bank of the country.

So far, a new round of struggle for power in Libya has affected only the crude oil segment, with a number of oil fields halted the operations.

However, due to these instability in the country, some traders expect delays of payment for agricultural products for the nearest contracts under execution.

Ukraine mainly exports corn to Libya. In Oct-Jul 2023/24 MY, Ukraine shipped 495 KMT of corn to the country. The volume surpassed 415 KMT of corn over the same period year ago, and has already exceeded the result of the full 2022/23 MY (465 KMT).
