No major shifts in freight rates from Ukraine were observed in the second half of August. The market remains weak, with a shortage of cargo orders across all DWT segments. However, shipowners firmly stand their ground preventing any further rate cuts. Freight rates largely stay stable, with only minor fluctuations on specific routes.

The freight of coaster with corn from Ukrainian Danube ports to Marmara and East Coast Greece remains at 17-18 USD/MT and 19-20 USD/MT, respectively. Meanwhile, rates to East Med ports have inched down by 1 USD/MT to 22-23 USD/MT. Freight to Israeli ports remains steady at 29-30 USD/MT. Rates for East Coast Italy and Spain destinations also remain unchanged at 26-27 USD/MT and 28-30 USD/MT, respectively.
