Turkey has allocated import tariff quotas for sunflower seeds and sunflower oil for the period spanning 1 Jan to 30 Apr 2025, according to Bulent Ozsoy, a broker at Atria Brokers and advisor to ASAP Agri. The quotas allow for the import of 1 MMT of sunflower seeds or the equivalent of 400 KMT of sunflower oil. Sunflower seed imports under the quota will benefit from a 0% tax, while sunflower oil imports will be taxed at 20%, Ozsoy explained. The policy aims to balance domestic supply while supporting local producers during the specified period.
