Algeria's state grain agency, OAIC, has purchased a massive 1.17 MMT of milling wheat in a tender held on 24 Dec. The reported purchase prices ranged from 257 to 258 USD/MT C&F, reflecting a 10 USD/MT decrease compared to the agency’s previous tender price of 267 USD/MT on 26 Nov.
The wheat is scheduled for shipment between Feb and Mar 2025. The majority of the volume is expected to come from EU Black Sea countries and Ukraine, with some shipments likely sourced from russia. However, French wheat is unlikely to be part of the deal due to ongoing political tensions between Algeria and France.
